Alalá (TVG)

The main characters of the program Alalá are the people, groups or associations playing traditional of folk galician music. Alalá mixes musical performances with documentary pieces about the daily life of the main characters, their way to think, feel and perceive the traditional music and the world.

The traditional Galician music was born under a rural context. The little village was the main transmitter of the culture and the Galician musical knowing. In Alalá the "gaiteiros" or the "pandereteiras" are not the ones who go to the recording studio but it goes to them, to the village, to take them with the most fidelity and depth that context where traditional music is found.

The presence of the camera in the village tries not to intimidate but being friend and confidant, portraying the Galician rural life and in many cases the old people world, not only respectfully but with a deep love too.Considering them the biggest teachers of a way of life that little by little is being abandoned, because of people is getting older, globalization and the new way of life of the Galician society.
